The wait is finally over. After months of speculation and excitement we finally got our invite to the press view of the new Bowie Centre. We can tell you we were not disappointed!

90,000 - yes 90,000 dazzling costumes, shining musical instruments, books, shoes, sunglasses, records, fan art, photos ...the list is endless. The complete Bowie archive all in one safe storehouse place.

Chatting to staff we were staggered to hear of the job in hand. It's going to take the busy V&A helpers 2 full years to document every single item.

Nine rotating displays are filled with over 200 items spotlighting key moments in Bowie's career. Many things are on show for the very first time. To show everything off the cabinets will be refreshed every six weeks. The first set of items have been hand picked by Nile Rodgers and 'The Last Dinner Party'.

We are already deliberating over which 5 items we want to get up close and personal to using their FAB Oder an Object service. We're thinking maybe 5 sparkling jumpsuits? Some items you can actually touch (exciting).

Free to visit but make sure you book a slot here. We predict the centre will be packed for many months to come.
