Ahoy there me hearties! Set your sails as the Pirates plunder their way into town.

Expect swashbuckling tales galore as these seafaring scoundrels descend on the National Maritime Museum this March. Heroic rascals or violent criminals ? Discover the truth behind the myth at this hugely family friendly interactive show.
From Long John Silver to the comical Capt. Jack Sparrow, Captain Hook to the modern day pirates of the Caribbean these sea-faring travellers have captured our imaginations for centuries. Covering theatre, film and fashion this show brings together early literal works from the 18th century to 1980s fashion (think Adam Ant) through 200 pirating objects. We loved the giant Treasure Island book, the beady eyed pirate barrel and the interactive pirating maps. Grown ups will enjoy the potted Capt. Pugwash history.
Museum building works are still afoot but the plan is for a whole museum relaunch in mid June. We can't wait to see the new Ocean Court hopefully opening on World Ocean Day.
