Little Amal in London

The puppet that has captured all our hearts arrives in London on Friday. Here is where to catch her over the weekend:-


Friday

Little Amal enters the capital via the Borough of Lewisham, 2022's Borough of Culture.

10am–12pm: Deptford High Street, Giffin Square. For details of the street party, see the Albany


Saturday

!0am: The Great Doors of St Paul's - outdoor event with faith leaders the City of London Choir and local school children.


1pm: Shakespeare’s Globe


4.15pm: Royal Festival Hall Little Amal's arrival at the Southbank Centre will be the finale of Welcome Wishes, an afternoon of interactive storytelling and crafting, part of the London Literature Festival. The event starts at 2pm and is suitable for ages 5+. Free, though space may be limited so get there in good time.


5.30pm: National Theatre A choir will welcome Amal to the National Theatre terrace.


7pm: Somerset House After crossing Waterloo Bridge, a specially choreographed dance performance will welcome Amal to Somerset House. Details here.


Overnight: Royal Opera House, Covent Garden At approximately 11.15pm, after the last curtain call from the evening performance of Romeo & Juliet, the two leads - Cesar Corrales and Francesca Hayward - will welcome Little Amal into the lofty glass of the Paul Hamlyn Hall for a sleepover like no other.


Sunday

11am–3pm: Victoria and Albert Museum Amal will celebrate her tenth birthday at the V&A. Timed tickets for museum entry at 11am and 1pm (when the main birthday events are happening) are sold out but other free slots are still available. Ottolenghi is baking her a giant birthday cake!


7pm: Roundhouse, Camden Tickets are still available for a birthday concert of music, dance and poetry. Performers include Anoushka Shankar, Innua Ellams and Lowkey. £20–£35. Click here for more details and to book.


Monday

2pm: Westminster Cathedral Welcome Liturgy with Cardinal Vincent. Families invite to attend. Seated by 1.45pm. For more details, see Westminster Cathedral newsletter - scroll down!.
